Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh on Tuesday said that the State Government had taken phenomenal strides especially in the fields of Health, Education and Employment during the last two and half year. While handing over appointment letters to new 24 MBBS doctors deputed as house surgeons in the district at local Civil Hospital, Dr. Ravjot Singh pointed out that with the appointment of these doctors the health services would get a boost thus benefitting people not only at civil hospital but also at sub division hospitals.
Of these 24 doctors, eight will be deputed at local civil hospital, four at sub-division hospital Garhshankar, five at Dasuya and two in Mukerian to provide healthcare facilities in the hospitals, he added. The Minister mentioned that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann new milestones had been setup in health, education and employment sectors as nearly 50,000 government jobs were given to the youngsters in the state.
Congratulating the doctors on behalf of Chief Minister, Dr. Ravjot Singh called upon them to deliver their duties with utmost dedication, hard work as well as professional committment so as to ensure quality healthcare services in the hospitals. MLA Bram Shanker Jimpa also lauded the endeavours of Punjab Government to further improve the healthcare system and said nearly 900 Aam Aadmi Clinics had provided health related services to crores of people across the state.
He said the upcoming integrated laboratory at civil hospital would also provide nearly 80 types of medical tests to people free of cost. The newly appointed doctors also expressed their gratitude towards the State Government to appoint them besides assuring that they would make all out efforts to discharge their duties with professional committment.
