Haryana Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Sports, Law, and Legislative Affairs Sh. Gaurav Gautam inaugurated the 41st sugarcane crushing season 2024-25 of the Palwal Cooperative Sugar Mill on Sunday. Hodal MLA Sh. Harinder Singh was also present at the event.Farmers from Deeghot and Hassanpur, who brought the first sugarcane loads to the mill in tractor trolleys, were honoured on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Sh. Gaurav Gautam extended his heartfelt congratulations to the mill management, employees, and farmers. He said that farmers are the backbone of the country, and the nation cannot progress without their prosperity.
The Minister emphasised Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi's vision, stating that there are four key pillars of development in India: farmers, the poor, youth, and women. Only when these groups progress will the country truly develop. He urged the mill officers and sugarcane farmers to work together for the efficient functioning of the mill.
He also spoke about the farmer-friendly initiatives by the mill management, such as the Atal Canteen, which provides meals to farmers for just Rs.10. Additional facilities include a rest house, drinking water, toilets, and an LED TV.
Awareness campaigns are also being organised in villages to educate farmers about increasing sugarcane production in the region. The goal is to boost sugar exports from the Palwal mill and strengthen the economic condition of farmers.
