Punjab By-elections: Aam Aadmi Party’s Huge Success, Wins 3 Out of 4 Seats

In the Punjab Assembly by-elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recorded a huge success. The party has claimed three out of four seats. AAP won Gidderbaha, Chabbewal and Dera Baba Nanak assembly seats in the by-poll. These three seats were previously held by the Congress party.

In the 2022 Assembly elections, Raja Warring from Congress won from Gidderbaha, Sukhjinder Randhawa from Dera Baba Nanak, and Rajkumar Chabbewal from Chabbewal. After winning these three seats, the number of AAP legislators in the Assembly has now increased to 94.

In the high-profile constituency of Dera Baba Nanak, Aam Aadmi Party's Gurdeep Randhawa defeated Congress candidate and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhjinder Randhawa's wife, Jatinder Kaur Randhawa, by 5,699 votes. In Gidderbaha, AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon defeated Congress Punjab President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring's wife, Amrita Warring, by 21,969 votes. 

Meanwhile, in Chabbewal, Dr. Ishank Kumar won by 28,690 votes.After the victory, AAP leaders celebrated at the party office in Chandigarh. Leaders and workers played dhols, did Bhangra and distributed sweets to congratulate each other. During the celebration, minister Harjot Bains, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, and the party's state general secretary Jagroop Singh Sekhwan, along with several other party officials and leaders, were present.

AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal congratulated all the newly elected MLAs and thanked the people of Punjab for their continued trust in the Aam Aadmi Party. He said, "The people of Punjab have once again expressed their faith in Aam Aadmi Party’s ideology and the work of our government by giving us three out of four seats in the by-elections. Thank you very much to the people of Punjab, and congratulations to everyone!"

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also congratulated and said, "Many congratulations to Punjabis for the spectacular win in the by-elections! Under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party is reaching new heights across the country every day. We are working day and night with honesty and without discrimination for the progress and prosperity of Punjab. We will prioritize fulfilling every promise made to the people during the by-elections!"

The party's National Organization Secretary Dr. Sandeep Pathak, the party's Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh, and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha also thanked the people and wished the best to the new legislators. Sandeep Pathak credited this victory to the party's workers and appreciated their hard work.

Jarnail Singh said that today's results once again proved that Arvind Kejriwal's magic is intact and that people are happy with the work of the Mann government. He said that this is the result of years of hard work by our leaders and workers. The Aam Aadmi Party is consistently receiving love and support from the people of Punjab. The AAP government is also working dedicatedly to make Punjab prosperous and happy.

Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said that the people's trust in Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann's visionary leadership and honest politics is continuously growing. The welfare work of the AAP government has impressed the people of Punjab. He congratulated the party workers and supporters for winning three seats in the by-elections.

Aam Aadmi Party's new Punjab State President Aman Arora said that under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party has won three out of four seats in the by-elections. Now the Mann government has 94 legislators. A big thank you to all the workers! He said that the party workers, office-bearers, and leaders worked very hard in this election. This victory is the result of their hard work.

The party’s working president in Punjab, AmanSher Singh Sherry Kalsi, said that the party has achieved this victory due to the capable leadership of party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. On the victory of AAP candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa in Dera Baba Nanak, Minister Lalchand Kataruchakk said that today, the era of goondaraj in Dera Baba Nanak has ended. He said that the Sukhjinder Randhawa family had created an atmosphere of fear here for years. The people have taught them a lesson. He further said that this mandate is extremely important for us. It is a stamp of approval on the good governance of the Mann government.

In Gidderbaha and Dera Baba Nanak, repeated victories had inflated the egos of Raja Warring and Sukhjinder Randhawa, but today, the people have defeated their arrogance.

The people of Punjab are highly impressed with the work done by the AAP government in education and health sectors - MLA Kulwant Singh

Kulwant Singh, the AAP MLA from Mohali, said that the people have stamped their approval on the public-welfare work done by the AAP government. People voted based on the work done. Our leaders also presented the work of our government over the last two and a half years to the public. He said that the people of Punjab are highly impressed with the work done by the AAP government in the fields of education and health. This is the result of that.

Gurdeep Randhawa thanked the people of Dera Baba Nanak! - We have fought a long battle against hooliganism and injustice

After the victory, AAP candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa thanked the people of Dera Baba Nanak and said that we have fought a long struggle against goondagardi (hooliganism) and injustice. During the dark times, four members of our family sacrificed their lives. 

Today, our struggle has been successful, and for this, I will always be grateful to the people here. He said that the people of Dera Baba Nanak have defeated the arrogance and dynastic politics of the Randhawa family and have made the politics of Aam Aadmi Party, based on work, victorious.

Dr. Ishank thanked his father and party leadership, expressed gratitude to the voters and supporters!

AAP candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar from Chabbewal credited his victory to his father, Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal. He thanked party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and the state leadership of the party, and expressed his gratitude to the voters and supporters. After defeating Amrita Warring, the wife of Congress Punjab President Raja Warring, by nearly 22,000 votes in Gidderbaha, AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon said, “This is not just my victory, it is the victory of the entire Gidderbaha constituency.

It is the victory of all the people here.” He expressed his gratitude to the people of Gidderbaha and said, “The people listened to me and trusted me, for which I sincerely thank them.” He also thanked AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for placing their trust in him.
