MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today chaired the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Evaluation Committee to review the development works. He appealed to the Municipal Corporation officials to make permanent arrangements to get rid of the problem of cleanliness and garbage in the city. 

A concrete solution should be found to provide relief to this issue. Meanwhile, he also instructed the Municipal Corporation officials to register an FIR against both the person who stole the grills installed in the BRTS lane and the person who bought them. Meanwhile, MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla also said that the cycle track being built in the city should be inspected.

On this occasion, while holding a meeting with important officials of all departments of the city, MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that the direction committee checks that the ongoing development works in the city are being done properly and that the people do not have to face any kind of problem. He said that more new machines are being installed at the dump site to remove the problem of garbage. 

He said that the parking of garbage trucks at Ranjit Avenue should be stopped immediately. He expressed concern over the industrial wastewater flowing in the drains of the city including Tung Dhab, Manawala, Bhagtanwala located on Tarn Taran Road and asked for a meaningful solution to it. 

He also directed to make a project to stop the industrial wastewater falling in these dirty canals and to clean the water of these canals and use it properly. Aujla said that the work related to the central government should be assigned to me so that I can work on the spot in this session that is starting.

He also appealed to the people not to be responsible for the garbage problem. If they throw garbage, then mosquitoes come inside the house from where they throw it out and spread diseases. Therefore, keep your houses and surroundings clean as well.

MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla told the National Highway officials that whatever underpasses are being built should be 5.5 meters so that people do not have to face any kind of problem. Stressing on the resumption of BRTS bus service, he said that the number of these buses needs to be increased and not closed. 

He has demanded that these buses be started soon for the convenience of the people.  Aujla also directed to immediately release appropriate compensation to the farmers for the land acquired for the National Highway.

He said that no kind of delay in development works will be tolerated. He said that all development works should be completed on time. During the meeting, the National Health Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, Aajeevika Mission, Pradhan Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Sial Health Card, National Rural Drinking Water Program, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao and other ongoing schemes were also reviewed. 

During this, he also instructed all government departments to get electricity through solar and use it. During this, he also appealed to the people about the canal water project to help the government in running this project because this will provide them with good water and this project should continue for the future of their children.

During this, the DC Sakshi Sahni, who was present, took the issues raised by the committee members seriously and assured to complete the work within the stipulated time and said that departmental action will be taken against any negligent officer. On this occasion, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gulpreet Singh Aulakh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, SDM Gursimran Singh Dhillon and officers of various departments were also present.
