Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal and SSP Ajay Gandhi conducted a surprise visit to fields in Moga district for the second consecutive day to check stubble burning. At village Datewal, they personally extinguished a fire lit by a farmer and directed action against the culprit.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Moga district will strictly follow Supreme Court and Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) orders. Sarangal warned that no harassment of government officials and employees will be tolerated, and stern action, including police action, will be taken against offenders.

SSP Gandhi advised the public to cooperate with officials and not take the law into their own hands, warning of strict action against those who do. Both officials appealed to farmers to manage stubble within their fields instead of burning it.

Other officials were also present during the visit.
