VIT-AP University Empowers Rural Toppers with Free Laptops and 100% fee waiver under the STAR Scheme

VIT-AP University is proud to announce the distribution of free laptops to students under the STAR (Support the Advancement of Rural Students) Scheme. This initiative reflects VIT-AP’s dedication to supporting academic excellence among top-performing students from rural areas across Andhra Pradesh. 

Under the STAR Scheme, VIT-AP provides free education to the top one male and one female students from each of the 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh, offering them a comprehensive support package that includes academic and hostel facilities, as well as basic medical expenses. 

As part of this initiative, 49 students received laptops from Sri Sankar Viswanathan, Vice-President of VIT University today. Speaking at the distribution event, Sri Sankar Viswanathan highlighted that the STARS Scheme is the vision of Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT. 

He emphasized that the initiative is focused on enhancing the quality of life for rural students, giving them the tools and opportunities to succeed in their academic journeys. 

During the event, he engaged with students by posing analytical and aptitude questions, sparking enthusiasm and active participation. Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor of VIT-AP, expressed the university’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints don’t limit talented young minds from pursuing engineering careers. 

“Through the VIT-AP STARS Scheme, we empower students from underprivileged backgrounds by offering a 100% fee waiver that covers both academic and hostel expenses, enabling them to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.”

Dr. Jagadish Chandra, Registrar of VIT-AP, added, “The STAR Scheme embodies our commitment to inclusive education and community development. We believe that by supporting these deserving students, we are not only shaping their futures but also contributing to the growth and progress of our society.”
