In observance of World Cancer Awareness Day, Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bela, in collaboration with Rotary Club Ropar Central, organized an informative seminar on cancer awareness. Dr. Shailesh Sharma, Director of the college, delivered a detailed talk on cancer, highlighting its significance and impact.
He emphasized that the day is observed on November 7th, marking the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Marie Curie, a pioneer in cancer research. Dr. Sharma shared alarming statistics, revealing that one in every ten people in India is affected by cancer. He discussed the causes, prevention, and treatment options, urging students to spread awareness in their communities. Madam Noel, President of the Rotract Club Bela, expressed gratitude to the students for their participation in the event. The seminar aimed to equip attendees with crucial knowledge to fight the cancer epidemic.
