Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said that the work to establish Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in six districts of the state will be completed soon, with the inaugurations to be carried out by Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini. *The Health Minister said this while interacting with journalists here today.
She said that, in addition to setting up ICUs across all districts, trauma centers will also be established. The Minister assured that the recruitment of Medical Officers and Doctors will be prioritized and completed at the earliest.
Ms. Rao further said that she had instructed department officials to visit hospitals across the state, assess the current arrangements, and address any deficiencies. She emphasized that if any negligence is found, strict action would be taken against the concerned authorities.
*Increase in Bed Capacity at Gurugram’s Hospitals*
The Health Minister highlighted that she had personally inspected hospitals in Gurugram and had directed officials to increase the number of beds in the older hospitals. This step, she explained, would ensure that patients do not face any issues and that the general public receives better treatment in government hospitals.
Ms. Rao also shared updates on the ongoing construction of the Sheetla Mata Medical College in Gurugram, which is expected to be completed within the next six months. Additionally, a new medical college will be set up in Sector 10, Gurugram, which will include a 700-bed hospital. The Prime Minister or Chief Minister will be invited for its inauguration once ready.
*Toll-Free Helpline for Public Complaints*
The Health Minister said that a toll-free helpline would soon be introduced, allowing citizens to register complaints, including issues related to healthcare services or demands for additional support. She assured that prompt action would be taken on all complaints.
*Road Accident Victims to Receive Government Support*
Expressing concern over the high mortality rate in road accidents, Ms. Rao appealed to citizens to ensure that victims of road accidents are immediately taken to the nearest hospital, whether public or private. She emphasized that the government would cover treatment costs for up to seven days, to a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh, for such accident victims. The Health Department will reimburse these costs.
*Measures to Control Dengue Spread*
On the issue of dengue, Ms. Rao informed that Chief Minister Mr. Nayab Singh Saini held a meeting with Health Department officials today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed Deputy Commissioners across the state to monitor dengue larvae at all locations and carry out fogging operations to curb the spread of the disease.
Ms. Rao also mentioned that the Chief Minister had stressed the need to open e-Sanjeevani centers in all districts. Currently, these centers are operational in Panchkula and Rohtak, and efforts are underway to expand them.
