Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Sh. Rajesh Nagar directed officials to ensure that all depot holders in the state distribute rations as promptly as possible. Action will be taken against those depot holders who deliberately delay distribution. During the meeting, he also instructed the installation of CCTV cameras at all ration depots, emphasizing that any irregularities in the distribution of rations to the underprivileged will not be tolerated.

Sh. Nagar was presiding over a meeting with senior officials from the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department here today, spanning from the district level to headquarters. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Sumita Misra was also present on this occasion.

The Minister reviewed all departmental activities during his inaugural meeting and instructed officials that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi wants to ensure that no eligible poor person is deprived of their rights. The Haryana Government is committed to realizing the vision of the Prime Minister.

He urged officials to cooperate in delivering the proper quantity of rations to the underprivileged through AAY and BPL cards in a timely manner. Additionally, he warned officials who protect errant depot holders that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty upon receiving complaints.

He instructed officials that all rations should reach the depots before the first date of every month to ensure that underprivileged individuals can obtain their grains on time. He emphasized the installation of CCTV cameras at all depots, which will be monitored at both the district and headquarters levels. This measure is intended to enhance transparency in the operations of depot holders and prevent any manipulation of rations intended for the poor.

Sh. Rajesh Nagar also directed that online data regarding ration distribution be kept up to date. He stated that whenever rations arrive at a depot, this information should be communicated to consumers immediately through public announcements, WhatsApp, and text messages.

Depots will be required to remain open for the entire month or until cent percent of the rations are distributed in their area within the specified time frame.Apart from  this, he said that only one person per family should hold a ration depot license. Action will be taken against individuals who obtain licenses for multiple depots through collusion, and such licenses may be revoked.
