Haryana Minister for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Shruti Chaudhry, has directed officials of the department to focus on driving social change by raising awareness among women, ensuring that the objectives of the department's schemes are met.
She emphasized the importance of actively implementing welfare initiatives at the grassroots level, particularly in areas such as Vitamin D distribution, skill development, and improving nutrition for women.Mrs. Chaudhry also highlighted the pivotal role that Anganwadi workers can play in raising awareness about important issues such as water conservation and stubble burning.
She called for the department to launch special campaigns on these topics, noting their direct link to the nutrition and well-being of women and children in the state.While presiding over a meeting of the Women and Child Development officers here today she said that ‘nutrition’, ‘poshan’ and ‘women and child empowerment’ are the central point of the department's schemes.
She directed the department to prepare a detailed action plan for all schemes and to conduct regular reviews to track the progress. She further took information regarding the various schemes and also gathered detailed information about the quality and distribution of food provided to women and children under ‘Poshan Yojna’.
She emphasised the importance of interdepartmental cooperation and encouraged officers to work closely with other departments to maximise the impact of implemented schemes.She also shared her plans of personally monitoring the on-ground implementation of these schemes through field visits and appealed to officers to do the same, ensuring that the benefits reach the intended women and children.
Smt. Choudhry said that the Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, and Union Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal mentions the importance of use of technology while implementing schemes, thus she emphasised that the department's website must be updated regularly and designed to be user-friendly, enabling the public to easily understand and access information about the schemes.
Any negligence in maintaining the website will not be tolerated. She personally reviews the website daily, she added.Also, efforts should be made to engage youth in awareness campaigns. She further shared plans for establishing new Anganwadi centres and ‘Mahila Chaupal’ centres, which are included in the party's Sankalp Patra.
During the meeting directions for ensuring the proper tracking of growth indicators, such as weight and height, for children up to six years old were given. She also emphasised the need for more rigorous work in providing skill training programmes for women for helping them generate livelihood opportunities.
The Minister gathered information about the challenges related to the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative, the Women Entrepreneurship Scheme, play schools, creche centers, and recruitment for vacant posts. He assured that recruitment for the vacant positions will be carried out in accordance with the established rules.
Commissioner & Secretary to Government, Haryana, Women & Child Development, Smt. Amneet P.Kumar and other Senior officers of the department remained present during the meeting.
