Rahul Yadav, Mission Director, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme J&K today visited the Fruit Plant Nursery established by the Department of Horticulture at Vijaypur Samba. He was accompanied by Director Horticulture Jammu C.L.Sharma. During the visit, the MD reviewed the activities being undertaken by the Department under HADP in the nursery.
He inspected the Mother Block of Dragon wherein 1300 plants have been planted in 6 k area with a provision of 480 sq mtr shade net house having all micro irrigation facilities and other automation interventions being taken up under HADP. The Director Horticulture informed the MD HADP about the latest varieties of Guava, Mango and Date palm being grown in the Nursery.
The MD instructed the officers to work with zeal and make maximum efforts to reach every farmer and make them aware about the interventions being taken up under HADP so that the objective of the scheme is well achieved.This will attract youth in lucrative avenues of Agriculture and allied sectors which offers great self employment opportunities in diverse fields.
Chief Horticulture Officer Samba Mukesh Sharma and other officers of the Department were also present there.
