Rs 69.67 crore releases to farmers under paddy procurement

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said that 800 MT paddy lifted in a single day in Distt Rupnagar and Rs 69.67 crore has been paid to the farmers under paddy procurement so far. He said that a lot of issues has been resolved and others are being sorted out. 

He also appealed to all arhtias farmers and mill owners to speed up process of procurement for the convenience of farmers . While presiding over the meeting with senior officials, he instructed Food & Civil Supply Deptt including purchase agencies to speed up the process of paddy procurement in grain markets of Distt.

He further said that 35 thousand 648 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the grain markets of district Rupnagar and 34 thousand 003 metric tons have been purchased by various procurement agencies.
