The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) strongly condemns the recent derogatory remarks made by Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader Virsa Singh Valtoha against respected Jatthedar Damdama Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh. In a statement released to the media, AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang said that this behavior of Akali Dal Badal leaders, where they threaten Giani Raghubir Singh at his own house and use such derogatory language towards Giani Harpreet Singh, reflects a troubling decline in political decorum of the party.
The Badal family has shown a consistent pattern of misusing Sikh institutions for personal gain, which is unacceptable. Kang added that as the Badal family struggles to maintain relevance, winning only a single seat in the recent elections, it is clear that their outdated tactics and arrogance have alienated them from the very community they claim to represent.
Kang urged Giani Harpreet Singh to reconsider his resignation, as his leadership is essential for the Sikh community and Punjab. The AAP supports principled leaders dedicated to serving the people. Kang said that Giani Harpreet Singh is an honest leader and has been serving the Sikh community for many years.
