Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu IAS today convened a meeting with Cluster and Nodal Officers appointed to prevent stubble burning in villages of Fazilka district. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sandhu directed the officers to regularly visit villages and stay there to interact with farmers and motivate them not to burn paddy stubble. 

She emphasized the importance of educating farmers about the harmful effects of stubble burning and the benefits of using stubble as a natural resource to enhance soil fertility. Deputy Commissioner Sandhu informed the officers that a list of paddy management machines had already been pasted at common places of villages. 

She also directed the Nodal Officers to facilitate access to these machines for farmers, ensuring easy arrangement for stubble management. The officers were instructed to educate farmers about the harmful effects of stubble burning and the benefits of using stubble, motivating them to adopt sustainable farming practices. 

This initiative demonstrates the district administration's commitment to environmental conservation. Dr. Sandeep Rinwa, Chief Agriculture Officer, was also present at the meeting.
