Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, led a spirited protest against the Aam Aadmi Party and the Punjab administration for two consecutive days in Gidderbaha, outside the SDM office.

Joined by Congress workers and thousands of residents of Gidderbaha, they staged a sit-in outside the SDM office and on the highway to demonstrate their dissent against what they termed the government's tyranny in the upcoming panchayat elections.

In a powerful appeal to the Punjab Congress leadership, Warring urged all party leaders to unite against the AAP government's oppressive measures. “The time for struggle has come. Stand up against the tyranny being imposed by the government in the panchayat elections and stand with your people. Show the government that the Congress Party will fiercely fight for the rights of its people,” he proclaimed.

Despite the protest continuing into a second day, Warring criticized the Aam Aadmi Party's arrogance and detachment from the electorate. “Perhaps, intoxicated by power, they have forgotten that this seat of power was given to them by the people. If the people can put them in power, they can also remove them,” he stated.

The PPCC Chief reiterated the determination of the Congress Party, saying, “We will continue this fight, this struggle, for our people in the same way.”In a significant development following the protest, MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh, MLA Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Ex-Minister Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Ex-MLA Sukhpal Singh Bhullar, General Secretary PPCC Capt. Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Vikram Singh Bajwa, and Happy Khera met with the Chief Election Commissioner in Chandigarh. They expressed their discontent regarding malpractices and manipulation in the upcoming Panchayat Elections by the AAP.

In a letter submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer, the Congress leadership demanded the immediate transfer of the Deputy Commissioner of Sri Muktsar Sahib and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gidderbaha. They outlined a series of grievances, including the illegal cancellation of nominations for several candidates who had complied with all requirements and had been allotted symbols to contest the elections.

In a democracy, no one is greater than the people,” Warring emphasized, urging that their demands for justice must be met.The sustained pressure from the Congress Party bore fruit as the Election Commission responded to the PPCC Chief’s complaints.

Summons were issued to the SDM and RO of Gidderbaha, and a representative was dispatched to assure the protestors that a thorough investigation would be conducted into the electoral process to ensure a free and fair panchayat election.

Warring concluded with a clear message: Our protest which continued for two days has shown that the Congress Party will stand firm and fight this battle for the common people with full determination.” The PPCC remains resolute in its commitment to protect democratic rights and hold the Aam Aadmi Party accountable for its actions.
