In a scathing statement, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, strongly condemned the Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for their blatant manipulation of the upcoming Panchayat elections in Punjab.
Warring revealed shocking details about the cancellation of election symbols and documentation of candidates from around 29 to 30 villages in Gidderbaha. According to him, the AAP-led government is deliberately sabotaging the democratic process in a calculated bid to ensure victory for their own backed candidates.
"It is nothing short of a murder of democracy," said Warring, lambasting the AAP for their hunger for power. "Money is being taken from aspiring candidates, and they are being told that their documentation is all in order. But later, these documents are being cancelled under the guise of technicalities, with the sole purpose of filling their coffers. This government is not only deceiving the people but also strangling the very foundation of democracy in Punjab."
The PPCC Chief went on to reveal that all the documentation was conveniently rejected during the early hours of the day at 4 AM, rendering around 29 Panchayat election seats in Gidderbaha uncontested. As a result, Aam Aadmi Party-backed Sarpanches have been declared victorious without any competition. "I would like to congratulate the Aam Aadmi Party," Warring added sarcastically.
They’ve successfully manipulated and ruined the Panchayat elections for their own benefit, but in doing so, they have completely destroyed democracy in Punjab."Criticizing the role of the administration, Warring stated, "The police uniform has been tarnished by this administration, which is working under the direct orders of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The SDM and DC should hang their heads in shame. Let this be a warning: the people of Gidderbaha will hold the Aam Aadmi Party accountable in the upcoming by-elections and those in the administration who colluded with AAP will be held accountable. I will personally ensure that the SDM and DC face the consequences of their actions."
In response to this grave injustice, Raja Warring led a massive protest outside the SDM office in Gidderbaha, where a large number of Congress workers and local residents gathered to voice their anger and demand justice. "The Congress Party will not allow the government to undermine democracy," Warring declared.
We stand firmly with the people of Punjab, and we will not hesitate to take any necessary action. The Aam Aadmi Party’s thirst for power has led them to cancel the documentation of duly approved candidates, and we will fight this battle for justice with unwavering determination."
Warring concluded his statement with a clear message to CM Bhagwant Mann and his party: "The Congress Party will not tolerate this authoritarian behavior under any circumstances. The Aam Aadmi Party has stooped to the level of strangling democracy, and this struggle will continue until justice is served. We will not allow the government to destroy democracy in Punjab."
