Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring travelled to Zira to meet with former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira and other Congress workers who were injured in a recent violent attack by AAP supporters, with the support of the administration in Zira.

Aspiring Panchayat election candidates and party workers were targeted in this brutal incident, where guns were fired and stones were pelted at Congress leaders, aimed at silencing those who dare to oppose the AAP regime.During his visit, Raja Warring assured the injured that he stands firmly with them, stating, “I will not let the voices of justice be silenced.

The Congress Party will be with you, through thick and thin, to ensure that the Panchayat elections are conducted in a free and fair manner. Democracy will not be murdered under our watch.” His presence served as a source of strength and solidarity for those who have been targeted by what he described as the AAP’s “desperate and undemocratic attempts to cling to power.”

The PPCC Chief also met with the District Commissioner and the police to address the situation and demand justice for those injured. In these discussions, he made it clear that any delay in accepting the documentation of the injured candidates, even after the final due date, would be unacceptable.

“If the documentation of those injured in this attack is not accepted, it will be nothing less than the death of democracy,” Warring declared, adding that the administration must act swiftly to prevent further erosion of democratic values in Punjab. The PPCC Chief took direct aim at the Aam Aadmi Party and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, criticizing their failure to ensure a peaceful election process.

The Panchayat elections are the bedrock of our democracy, and it is shameful that AAP, in its first term, has already resorted to such blatant and violent tactics to manipulate the outcome. This government is so insecure that it has to attack its opponents to stay in power. Bhagwant Mann and his party are trying to throttle democracy, but the people of Punjab will not let them succeed.”

Raja Warring vowed that the Congress Party would continue to fight for justice and protect the democratic rights of the people. He reiterated his commitment to standing by every candidate and worker who has been targeted, stating, “We will not back down, and we will ensure that the truth prevails.”

As Punjab prepares for the Panchayat elections, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and the Punjab Congress are determined to protect the sanctity of democracy against the underhanded tactics of the Aam Aadmi Party, ensuring that the will of the people prevails over violence and manipulation.
