Kharar MLA Mrs Anmol Gagan Mann kicked off the installation of Eight tubewell projects for Eight wards of Kharar worth Rs 3 Crore in Kharar today. Interacting with the media after laying the foundation stone of tubewell projects and a park at a public gathering at ward 12 of Kharar, MLAKharar said that earlier about 12 numbers of tubewells worth Rs 4.25 Crores had been installed in Kharar city and commissioning of more tubewells worth Rs 4.25 Crores is also in offing.
She said that to overcome the drinking water and sewerage disposal problems in Kharar city projects worth 158 Crores have been approved. Out of these, two sewerage projects worth Rs 30 Crore including 17 Crore of Khoonimajra will be set up to address the issue of sewer overflowing in the city permanently which was a long pending demand of the residents.
Apart from that, a drinking water project worth 117 Crores whose tender is going to float tomorrow would also be completed within a year by getting the water supply from Kajauli Water Works. She said that till the completion of this project, the tube wells would be ready to make the water supply sufficient in the city.
Listing the importance of this drinking water project, Anmol Gagan Mann said that the project has been pegged up keeping in view the requirement of Kharar city for the next many years. Reiterating her commitment to the overall development of Kharar, she said that the earlier governments did not pay heed to the demands of the Kharar residents and now it’s the Bhagwant Mann Government to meet all the needs of the Kharar residents.
She said that in the name of development, the mushrooming of illegal constructions has blocked the natural course of the water in the city resulting in stagnating rainwater in the city that would be resolved in the coming days. She said that all the roads of the Kharar that need repairs would be overhauled besides providing basic facilities like street lights, Sewer and drinking water.
Responding to MP Kangna Ranuats’ comments on Punjabi Youth who visit Himachal Pradesh, she said that she is trying to defame the Punjab youth by following a particular agenda which is not tolerable.
