Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, IAS, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Fazilka, today chaired a meeting with various department heads to review on-going projects and government programs in the district. Emphasizing the need for transparent and accountable administration, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu directed department heads to ensure that citizens receive hassle-free services.
She instructed officials to maximize the benefits of government schemes and programs for the public. Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu stated that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to ensure that the benefits of its welfare schemes reach every eligible individual.
She emphasized the need for timely completion of development projects and directed officials to work diligently. She specifically directed the Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department to provide technical knowledge to farmers and encourage them to adopt alternative methods for stubble management.
She also instructed the department to conduct soil testing and issue soil health cards to farmers before the next Rabi season. Deputy Commissioner advised the Local Government Department to ensure proper disposal of solid and liquid waste in urban areas, in accordance with regulations.
She appealed to citizens to segregate dry and wet waste at the household level and hand it over to the municipal council teams. The meeting was attended by SDM Pankaj Bansal and Balkaran Singh, District Revenue Officer Sandeep Kumar, Chief Agriculture Officer Sandeep Rinwa, and other department officials.
