Youngsters' pivotal role can save the environment by becoming the torch bearers of nature conservation and laying emphasis on reuse, recycle and reduce technique to combat the growing piles of garbage. Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mrs Punamdeep Kaur said this while interacting with Prisha Jain, student of class eighth of Sacred Heart Convent School at her office today.

Prisha had visited the DC office as a part of endeavor of Deputy Commissioner to channelize energy of youth and acquaint them to working of govenrment at young age. In future more students will visiting the DC office for such interactions. Discussing the surmounting problem of garbage piles and use of plastic, Deputy Commissioner said that as an individual it everyone could make a sea change. 

She encouraged Prisha to promote ensure segregation of wet and dry garbage at the end of households in her own house as well as a few houses in her neighborhood. For this she could rope in her classmates too, which shall further translate into handful of houses segregating their garbage and bringing much needed relief.

Deputy Commissioner encouraged Prisha to follow her dreams. She shared her own journey of being an IAS and recalled her training at South Korea. Deputy Commissioner said that before being an officer, one should first be a compassionate human being who thinks about lending a belong hand to others.

She explained the working of district administration Barnala and the works being done. Giving a warm send off to Prisha and her teacher Mrs Beenu Dhawan, Deputy Commissioner reiterated need to have socially sensitized youngsters.

District Public Relations Officer Megha Mann and District Employment Generation Officer Navjot Kaur Sandhu were also present.
