Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, has lambasted the Aam Aadmi Party's recent decision to deploy teachers as "duty magistrates" in Sangrur to maintain law and order, labeling it a glaring example of incompetence and failure in governance.

He termed this move a shocking misuse of teaching professionals, directly contradicting AAP’s self-proclaimed education model, and a desperate attempt to cover up its administrative shortcomings.Warring expressed his outrage, stating, "Forcing teachers out of their classrooms to control law and order situations is not only audacious but utterly unacceptable.

How can the education of our children be secure when their teachers are pulled away to handle matters they are not trained for? This decision reflects a shocking level of incompetence and disdain for both education and law enforcement in Punjab. Teachers are educators, not law enforcers, and it is shameful to treat them as such."

The PPCC Chief pointed out the sheer absurdity of the decision, asking, "What will happen to our children's education when their teachers are compelled to leave their schools to manage law and order situations? How can we expect educators, dedicated to shaping young minds, to suddenly take on the duties of police officers? This decision exposes the AAP's governance model as hollow, incompetent, and disrespectful towards our educators."

Warring highlighted the contradiction in the AAP’s approach, noting that while the party came to power boasting about its commitment to education, its actions have consistently undermined educators' roles. "This government has systematically degraded teachers by assigning them non-teaching roles, undermining their professional dignity and the state's education system.

From privatization attempts to inadequate staffing in government colleges, AAP has utterly failed Punjab in every regard. This latest episode is just another example of their ineptitude," Warring added. He criticized the government for its attempt to justify the order as a "routine measure" before hastily retracting it after backlash.

Labeling the deployment of teachers as a 'routine' administrative decision only to withdraw it amid public outrage reveals the poor decision-making and inconsistency that plagues the AAP administration," Warring stated.Addressing the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, Warring pointed to the recent killing of an NRI in his home in Amritsar and the rising menace of gangsters, arguing that the AAP government's approach has failed to ensure safety and security in the state.

"While law and order continue to collapse, with gangsters roaming freely and citizens fearing for their lives, the administration’s solution in Sangrur to maintain ‘law and order’, has been to deploy teachers to manage the chaos. This shows a shocking level of ineptitude in handling state matters," he remarked.

Warring emphasized that this misstep is part of a larger pattern of failure, as government teachers continue to face uncertainty, permanent faculty members are being ousted, and qualified aspirants remain jobless despite passing examinations.

The education sector is in ruins due to the AAP government which sends notifications for the privatization of government colleges, only to revoke them following backlash. The promises of establishing new government colleges remain unfulfilled, and the staff remains grossly inadequate. Now our teachers are being told to maintain law & order as well!" he added.

Warring demanded an immediate clarification from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his administration for this gross mishandling of state affairs. "The AAP government must take responsibility for its missteps and ensure that teachers are respected and allowed to focus on their roles as educators. Punjab deserves better governance—one that respects its teachers, secures its children's education, and maintains law and order with competence and integrity."

He urged the people of Punjab to stand united against such injustices and demand that the AAP government stop its dangerous experiments with the state's future. "This disgraceful episode should serve as a wake-up call for all of Punjab," Warring concluded, stressing that Punjab needs proper governance, not the incompetence that AAP continues to demonstrate.
