MLA from Central Assembly Constituency Dr. Ajay Gupta along with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh and Corporation officials started a cleaning campaign around Sri Darbar Sahib area from this morning. MLA Dr. Gupta said that the Punjab Government A level special cleaning campaign was launched, under which a large scale campaign was conducted today in collaboration with the Corporation Commissioner and officials.
He said that along with cleanliness, Cand D waste was picked up by the civil wing, the closed sewerage chamber, sewerage system and water supply system were repaired by the Corporation O&M department after checking on the spot. He said that people's problems were also heard on the spot, and instructions were given to the officials to solve them.
He said that the city's sanitation and sewage system remain a problem. He said that every day Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh is engaged in solving this problem by meeting with his officers. He said that concrete steps are being taken by the Corporation Commissioner to solve this problem.
Its meaningful results will be clearly visible in the coming days. On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harpreet Singh said that the Corporation is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people. He said that after listening to the problems of the people, he himself is going to the field along with the corporation officials to solve them.
He said that a large team of officers of the Sanitation Department of the Corporation has been deployed for cleaning arrangements around Shri Darbar Sahib of the Central Assembly Constituency and in the Walled City. He said that the Chief Sanitary Inspector and Sanitary Inspector of this team are working under the supervision of the Corporation's Health Officer Dr. Kiran Kumar.
He said that strict warnings have also been given to the door-to-door waste collection company. Commissioner Harpreet Singh said that the residents of the city should also cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in the cleaning system.He said that when the garbage collection vehicle comes, give garbage to the vehicle and throw the garbage only at the garbage points designated by the corporation.
He said that in the coming days a list of ward wise mobile numbers for door to door garbage collection will also be issued in every area of the city, if the garbage collection vehicle does not come then people can register their complaints on that number. So that the garbage collection vehicle can come as soon as possible.
