Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh.Pankaj Agarwal has said that all political parties must adhere to the Model Code of Conduct during the Haryana Assembly elections, as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India. He also said that any individual can file a complaint regarding any violation of the Model Code of Conduct on the C-Vigil app and legal action will be taken against those found violating these rules.
He said political parties must place their hoardings and banners only at locations designated by the District Election Office. Applications for permission can be submitted online. He emphasised the importance of ensuring that all pamphlets distributed during the election campaign must have the name and number of the printing press on them.
Non-compliance with these instructions will result in legal action against the printing press and the political party or candidate distributing the material, added the Chief Electoral Officer.Sh. Pankaj Agarwal also called on all political parties to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India for candidates and political parties.
He stated that all political parties and candidates should be cautious while using social media and to avoid spreading rumours. He advised that any suspicious information should be verified with the respective Returning Officer (RO) before sharing it further. Strict action will be taken against those spreading false and misleading information during the Assembly elections, he added.

Haryana Chief Election Officer (CEO) Sh. Pankaj Agarwal has said that in a democracy, every voter must exercise his right to vote. For this, he must ensure that his name is included in the voter list. He said only the citizens whose name is in the voter list can exercise his right to vote.
If a voter's name is in the list but he does not have a voter identity card, he can cast his vote by showing 12 alternative identity cards issued by the Election Commission. But any voter can cast his vote only if his name is registered in the voter list.He said voters can also cast their vote by using 12 alternative photo identity documents issued by the Commission.
These documents include passport, driving licence, service identity card with photo issued to employees by Central, state government, public sector undertakings or public limited companies, passbook with photo issued by bank or post office, PAN card, smart card issued by the Ministry of Labour, MGNREGA job card, health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of the Ministry of Labour, pension document with photo and Aadhaar card.
The Chief Electoral Officer said the voter lists are uploaded on the website of Haryana State Election Office CEOharyana.gov.in. A person can also check his name in the voter list by downloading it. Apart from this, voters can also get details by calling the helpline number- 1950.
