Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while reviewing the various schemes of the Agriculture department here today emphasized on the need of expanding natural farming in the State. He said that products grown using natural farming methods would be branded and marketed under distinct trademark to ensure better prices to the farmers associated with the sector.
He directed to evolve a comprehensive system for certification, packaging and marketing of natural farming produce and said that special lab would also be set up in the State for soil testing and to certify the produces. He expressed serious concern over the rising cases of cancer in the State and urged the farmers to adopt chemical-free farming practices.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also directed the officers to rationalize the agriculture department and assured the vacant posts in department would also be filled to address the shortage of the staff. He said that 70 percent of the population was associated with agriculture sector and therefore, the State Government has laid a special focus on enhancing the income of the people living in the rural areas.
He said that rural economy is the priority sector of the State Government and special initiatives have been taken in the budget 2024-25 to boost the economy. The Chief Minister said that in future agriculture department, Jal Shakti Vibhag in collaboration with JICA and SHIVA projects would implement integrated irrigation schemes to maximize the benefits to the farmers and make these schemes viable.
He said that government would ensure adequate funds for remodeling and repair of the traditional kuhals. He directed to set up cold stores according to the requirements and specific crop production needs in the respective district. He said that silos would be set up for the storage of wheat and maize under JICA.
He said that the state government is also making earnest efforts to enhance the milk production in the State and procurement rates for buffalo and cow milk has been increased to Rs. 55 and Rs. 45 per litre respectively. He said that animal rearing and natural farming was allied activities, therefore, the State Government was also contemplating to enhance financial assistance to the farmers for purchasing indigenous cows and buffalos in the natural farming clusters.
He said that the climate of the State is best suited for the dairy sector and by capitalizing on this, farmer's income could be significantly improved, thereby strengthening their economy. He stressed the need for integrating natural farming, animal rearing, fisheries and bee keeping. He also reviewed the functioning of JICA and Milkfed and asked to digitize the working of their organizations.
Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Secretary Agriculture C. Paulrasu, Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Director Agriculture Kumud Singh and other senior officers also attended the meeting.

मुख्यमंत्री ने कृषि विभाग की विभिन्न योजनाओं की समीक्षा की

मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू ने आज यहां कृषि विभाग की विभिन्न योजनाओं की समीक्षा करते हुए राज्य में प्राकृतिक खेती को बढ़ावा देने पर बल दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि प्राकृतिक खेती से तैयार किए उत्पादों के विशिष्ट ट्रेडमार्क के तहत ब्रांडिंग की जाए ताकि किसानों को उनकी उपज के बेहतर दाम मिल सकें।
उन्होंने उत्पादों के प्रमाणीकरण के लिए व्यापक तंत्र विकसित करने और राज्य में मिट्टी की जांच के लिए विशेष लैब स्थापित करने के भी निर्देश दिए। मुख्यमंत्री ने प्रदेश में बढ़ रहे कैंसर के मामलों पर गंभीर चिंता व्यक्त की। उन्होंने किसानों से रसायन मुक्त खेती की पद्धति अपनाने का आग्रह किया।
मुख्यमंत्री ने अधिकारियों को कृषि विभाग में युक्तिकरण के निर्देश देते हुए कहा कि स्टाफ की कमी को दूर करने के लिए विभाग में खाली पदों को तुरंत भरा जाए। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश में 70 फीसदी आबादी खेतीबाड़ी से जुड़ी हुई है और सरकार ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के लोगों की आय बढ़ाने पर विशेष ध्यान दे रही है।
उन्होंने कहा कि ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था राज्य सरकार का प्राथमिक क्षेत्र है और इसको प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए 2024-25 के बजट में विशेष पहल की गई हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि भविष्य में कृषि विभाग और जल शक्ति विभाग, जाइका व शिवा परियोजनाओं के सहयोग से एकीकृत सिंचाई योजनाओं को क्रियान्वित करेगा, ताकि किसानों को अधिकतम लाभ मिले और इन योजनाओं को व्यावहारिक बनाया जा सके।
उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार पारंपरिक कूहलों के जीर्णोद्धार और मरम्मत के लिए पर्याप्त धनराशि सुनिश्चित करेगी। उन्होंने संबंधित जिलों में विशिष्ट फसल उत्पादन आवश्यकताओं के अनुसार कोल्ड स्टोर स्थापित करने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि जाइका के तहत गेहूं और मक्का के भंडारण के लिए साइलो स्थापित किए जाएंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार राज्य में दूध का उत्पादन बढ़ाने के लिए विशेष प्रयास कर रही है। भैंस और गाय के दूध का खरीद मूल्य बढ़ाकर 55 और 45 रुपये किया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि पशुपालन और प्राकृतिक खेती दोनों ही संबद्ध गतिविधियां हैं, इसलिए राज्य सरकार प्राकृतिक खेती क्लस्टरों में देशी गायों और भैंसों की खरीद के लिए किसानों को वित्तीय सहायता बढ़ाने पर भी विचार कर रही है।
उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य की जलवायु डेयरी क्षेत्र के लिए सबसे अनुकूल है और इसका लाभ उठाकर किसानों की आय में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि की जा सकती है, जिससे उनकी आर्थिकी भी मजबूत होगी। उन्होंने प्राकृतिक खेती, पशुपालन, मत्स्य पालन और मधुमक्खी पालन को एकीकृत करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।
उन्होंने जाइका और मिल्कफेड के कामकाज की भी समीक्षा की और कार्य में डिजिटल पद्धति अपनाने के निर्देश दिए। कृषि मंत्री प्रो. चंद्र कुमार, प्रधान सचिव वित्त देवेश कुमार, सचिव कृषि सी. पालरासू, मुख्यमंत्री के सचिव राकेश कंवर, निदेशक कृषि कुमुद सिंह और अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी इस बैठक में उपस्थित थे।
