In a poignant tribute to fallen heroes, the District Administration Baramulla, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Minga Sherpa today organized a special tree plantation drive in the Tangmarg forest division as part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada initiative. The drive as part of ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon ke Naam’ also saw participation of CEO GDA, SDM Gulmarg, students, and most importantly, the families of police jawans who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
During the event, participants planted trees, dedicating to the memory of fallen jawans. This initiative not only serves as a tribute to the brave souls who laid down their lives for the nation but also aligns with the broader goals of the Swachhata Pakhwada, promoting cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
Minga Sherpa, speaking at the occasion, emphasized the significance of the drive stating that we honor our martyrs by planting these trees, which will stand as a testament to their sacrifice for generations to come while simultaneously contributing to the ecological balance of our region.
The families of the martyred jawans expressed their appreciation for this unique form of remembrance, finding solace in the idea that their loved ones' legacies will continue to grow and provide benefit to the community.
