In order to review arrangements for the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, a meeting of district officers was today held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb at DC Office Complex, here. At the outset, the DC took a detailed appraisal of the arrangements being made by all the line departments on the auspicious occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.

The DC directed the Officers of all the line departments to ensure all necessary arrangements are put in place well in advance so that people do not face any difficulty during the celebration of the holy occasion. He reviewed traffic regulation, waste disposal and sanitation, water, power availability, market checking, Medicare facilities and other arrangements, and instructed concerned Officers to extend all facilities to the people.

Strict instructions were issued to the concerned to check profiteering and hoarding and checking market practices through market checking, and proper disposal of hides and offals. Availability of sheep, chicken and other essentials was also reviewed and directions given for keeping specified sale outlets of sheep across the district's prominent places.

The meeting was attended by ACR, SDM, officers of KPDCL, MC, Jal Shakti, Health, Information, FCS&CA, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Legal Metrology, tehsildars and other concerned.
