Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today reviewed the various ongoing road projects of four lanes and other roads being constructed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Ministry of Surface Transport and State Public Works Department in the State. He directed the departments to expedite the ongoing projects to meet the established timelines while ensuring quality in construction works.
He directed the NHAI authorities to fully develop the Shimla-Matour and Mandi-Pathankot roads into four lanes to facilitate the smooth travel for commuters. He said that the State Government is developing Kangra district as the Tourism Capital of the State and both the four lane would be significant in bolstering the tourism activities.
He stressed on enhancing aesthetic appeal of both the four lanes and emphasized on construction of tunnels to minimize unnecessary cutting of hills. He said that after the completion of four lane projects, the commuters will get monetary and time saving benefits.
He said that construction work of Shimla-Nauni road segment will commence after the ensuing monsoon and is expected to be completed by September, 2026. Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that construction work of Pinjore-Nalagarh-Baddi four lane would be speeded up to benefit the industries in these areas and directed to complete this project by the end of 2025.
He also reviewed the Shimla Bypass project, Shimla-Solan four lane, widening and strengthening of Mandi-Hamirpur and Paonta-Shillai roads. He assured full cooperation from the State Government in ensuring the timely completion of these projects.
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, Principal Secretaries Devesh Kumar and Amandeep Garg, Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Regional Officer of NHAI Abdul Basit and Engineer-in-Chief PWD N.P. Singh and other senior officers also attended the meeting.

विकासात्मक कार्यों में गुणवत्ता व निर्धारित समयावधि में पूर्ण करने के निर्देश

मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने आज यहां प्रदेश में भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण (एनएचएआई), भूतल परिवहन मंत्रालय तथा हिमाचल प्रदेश लोक निर्माण विभाग द्वारा निर्मित की जा रही विभिन्न फोरलेन परियोजनाओं तथा अन्य निर्माणाधीन सड़क परियोजनाओं के कार्य की समीक्षा की। मुख्यमंत्री ने विभागों को विकासात्मक कार्यों में गुणवत्ता सुनिश्चित करते हुए निर्धारित समयसीमा में पूरा करने के निर्देश भी दिए।
उन्होंने एनएचएआई अधिकारियों को शिमला-मटौर तथा मंडी-पठानकोट सड़कों को पूर्ण रूप से फोरलेन में विकसित करने के निर्देश दिए ताकि यात्रियों को आरामदायक यात्रा की सुविधा मिल सके। राज्य सरकार कांगड़ा जिला को राज्य की पर्यटन राजधानी के रूप में विकसित कर रही है तथा दोनों फोरलेन परियोजनाएं पर्यटन गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने में महत्वपूर्ण साबित होंगी।
उन्होंने दोनों फोरलेन परियोजनाओं की सुंदरता बढ़ाने तथा अनावश्यक रूप से पहाड़ियों को काटने के लिए सुरंगों के निर्माण पर बल दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि फोरलेन परियोजनाओं के पूरा होने के बाद यात्रियों के समय तथा धन की बचत होगी। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि शिमला से नौणी सड़क का निर्माण कार्य इस वर्ष मानसून के बाद शुरू किया जाएगा।
सितंबर, 2026 तक इस कार्य के पूरा होने की उम्मीद है। ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने कहा कि पिंजौर-नालागढ़-बद्दी फोरलेन के निर्माण कार्य में तेजी लाई जाएगी ताकि इस क्षेत्र में उद्योगों को लाभान्वित किया जा सके। उन्होंने इस परियोजना को वर्ष 2025 के अंत तक पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए।
उन्होंने शिमला बाईपास परियोजना, शिमला-सोलन फोरलेन व मंडी-हमीरपुर और पांवटा-शिलाई सड़कों को चौड़ा करने और इनके सुदृढ़ीकरण की भी समीक्षा की। उन्होंने इन परियोजनाओं को समय पर पूरा करने के लिए राज्य सरकार की ओर से पूर्ण सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया।
लोक निर्माण मंत्री विक्रमादित्य सिंह, मुख्य सचिव प्रबोध सक्सेना, अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव ओंकार चंद शर्मा, प्रधान सचिव देवेश कुमार और अमनदीप गर्ग, मुख्यमंत्री के सचिव राकेश कंवर, एनएचएआई के क्षेत्रीय अधिकारी अब्दुल बासित, लोक निर्माण विभाग के प्रमुख अभियंता एन.पी. सिंह और अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारी बैठक में उपस्थित थे।
