The Concept of Super Model Polling booth based on the theme of Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, at Amity International School, 79, Mohali and Green Elections at Manav Mangal Smart School Phase-10, Mohali were the centre point of attractions among the voters who polled their votes there.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain said that the Airport theme based Super Model Polling booth was adjudged as one of the most appealing booths followed by Green Booth Manav Mangal Smart School.  

She said that both the supermodel booths were highly decorated with facilities of selfie points, ice cream and sweet and cold water stalls, Mehndi and Tattoo stalls were most sought after. Apart from that, the first time voters were given a sapling to make their day memorable by planting the tree.

The Booths in the Mohali city like Amity International School, Manav Mangal Smart, School of Eminence Phase 3B1 and Govt Elementary School, Lakhnaur and Govt High School, Phase 5 Mohali also have the folk dance Gidha performed by the students.

Renowned Artist, Gurpreet Singh Naamdhari paints tattoos free of cost to voters at Amity International School. Similarly, Specially abled youngster Lovepreet Singh attired in Shera dress made aware the people of voting right today. All the Model polling booths had the Mehndi applying facilities.

Apart from these, the district had a total 30 Model booths, 06 Green Booths and Three Pink Booths that were decorated in pink fabric and managed by Women Staff. Similarly, to promote first time voters, three youth managed booths and to boost the morale of specially abled, three PwD booths were set up in the district. 

The three Pink booths managed by female staff were set up at Shemrock Wonders School, Jamuna Apartment Khanpur in Kharar, Government Senior Secondary School, Phase 3B1, Mohali and Government Senior Secondary School, Derabassi.

The Model Polling booths were set up at Century Public School Karoran, Himalaya Public School Karoran, Munna Lal Puri Government Senior Secondary School Mullanpur Garibdass, Government High School Desu Majra, Chakwal National Senior Secondary School Kurali, Henderson Jubilee Senior Secondary School Kharar, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Kurali, Khalsa Senior Secondary School Kharar and Tagore Niketan High School Kharar in Kharar Segment, Govt High School Saneta, Shastri Model School, Phase-1, SAS Nagar, Gyan Jyoti Public School, Phase -2, SAS Nagar, Sherwood Convent Public School, Phase-4, Mohali, Manav Mangal Smart School, Phase-10, Mohali, Sir McCullough Public School, Phase-11, SAS Nagar, Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector-66, SAS Nagar in SAS Nagar Segment and Dikshant Global School, VIP Road, Zirakpur, Govt Elementary School, Peer Muchalla, Sarvhitkari Senior Secondary Vidya Mandir School Derabassi, Minerva Divine Public School, Zirakpur, Government High School Baltana and S S Jain Girls Senior Secondary School, Derabassi.

Similarly, Youth Staff managed booths were set up at Government Elementary School Shingariwala (booth no. 9) in 52-Kharar, Millennium School, Phase-5, Mohali (booth no. 158) in 53-SAS Nagar and ATS Valley School, Derabassi (booth no. 167) in 112-Derabassi. While, polling booths at Government Elementary School, Dussehra Ground Kharar, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sohana in Mohali and Bhartiya Public Senior Secondary School in Derabassi  were managed by Persons with Disability (PWD) staff.

All the 825 booths were equipped with heat wave measures in advance by deputing the Anganwadi and ASHA workers and Volunteers with Wheel Chairs for facilitating PwD Voters, said the Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Jain.
