A meeting of the intellectuals, held at the residence of Senior BJP Leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today, highlighted the special relationship’ of Prime Minister Modi with the Sikh community and Punjab. Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary of BJP spoke about the various policies and decisions taken by the Centre’s Modi Government in favour of the Punjab in general and Sikh Community in particular.
Chugh while addressing the Principals of various educational institutions, largely from Khalsa institutions, said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi has special regard for the Sikhs, who are brave and committed to welfare of the mankind. He said PM reveres the Sikh Gurus and has unflinching faith in Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Chugh said there is never a chance that PM Modi will not pay obeisance in any of the Sikh shrines and Gurdwaras on the occasion of Gurpurabs and special events relating to Sikh history and culture.A Booklet “PM Modi and his Government’s Special Relationship with Sikhs” was released on this occasion.The booklet highlights the outreach programme of the Modi Government with respect to the promotion of the Sikh history, heritage and culture.
While releasing the booklet, Chugh said be it the FCRA registration for Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Tax-Free Langar, Opening of Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor and Celebration of 550th Parkash Purab of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Modi Government has committed itself for the promotion of teaching of the Guru Sahibs and celebrations of various events relating the history and culture of the Sikhs.
Accompanied by Chhina, party leaders Sushil Devgan and others he said the Centre Government is committed for the promotion of teachings of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji regarding his philosophy of Universal Brotherhood, World Peace and adaption of the path of righteousness. He narrated various other decisions and initiatives taken by the Modi Government for the Sikh Community and Punjab State.
Chugh also highlighted the slashing of blacklist of Sikh NRIs by the Modi Government, which has benefitted number of Sikh NRIs residing abroad in USA, U.K, Canada and other countries. He said with the revision in list, their travelling to India has become possible.
Justice for 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots, upgradation of Jallianwala Bagh Memorial at Amritsar, Solidarity with Sikhs in Pakistan & Afghanistan and ensuring the rights of Sikhs in Jammu & Kashmir, ensuring the connectivity of various airports with many international destinations for connecting NRIs Sikh Diaspora with homeland, empowering Sikh youth by giving various scholarships were some of the other highlights.
During the interaction, the intellectuals appreciated the efforts being made by the Modi Government for the development and progress of Punjab. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina thanked Tarun Chugh for release of the booklet and he also highlighting various schemes and decisions taken by the Modi Government for the Sikh community and State of Punjab.

आज अमृतसर स्थित वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता राजिंदर मोहन सिंह छीना के आवास पर हुई बुद्धिजीवियों की बैठक में सिख समुदाय और पंजाब के साथ प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के विशेष संबंधों पर प्रकाश डाला गया। भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय महासचिव तरुण चुघ ने केंद्र की मोदी सरकार द्वारा सामान्य रूप से पंजाब और विशेष रूप से सिख समुदाय के पक्ष में ली गई विभिन्न नीतियों और निर्णयों के बारे में बात की।
चुघ ने विभिन्न शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के प्राचार्यों को संबोधित करते हुए, जिनमें मुख्य रूप से खालसा संस्थानों से थे, कहा कि माननीय प्रधान मंत्री मोदी के मन में सिखों के लिए विशेष सम्मान है, जो बहादुर हैं और मानव जाति के कल्याण के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पीएम सिख गुरुओं का सम्मान करते हैं और श्री गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब जी में उनकी अटूट आस्था है।
चुघ ने कहा कि ऐसी कोई संभावना नहीं है कि पीएम मोदी गुरुपर्व और सिख इतिहास और संस्कृति से संबंधित विशेष आयोजनों के अवसर पर किसी भी सिख तीर्थस्थल और गुरुद्वारे में मत्था नहीं टेकेंगे।इस अवसर पर उन्होंने एक पुस्तिका "पीएम मोदी और उनकी सरकार का सिखों के साथ विशेष संबंध" भी वितरित करवाई। पुस्तिका सिख इतिहास, विरासत और संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देने के संबंध में मोदी सरकार के आउटरीच कार्यक्रम पर प्रकाश डालती है।
चुघ ने कहा कि चाहे वह श्री दरबार साहिब, अमृतसर के लिए एफसीआरए पंजीकरण, कर-मुक्त लंगर, श्री करतारपुर साहिब कॉरिडोर का उद्घाटन और साहिब श्री गुरु नानक देव जी के 550 वें प्रकाश पर्व का जश्न हो, मोदी सरकार इसके लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। गुरु साहिबों की शिक्षाओं को बढ़ावा देना और सिखों के इतिहास और संस्कृति से संबंधित विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का जश्न मनाना।
छीना, पार्टी नेताओं सुशील देवगन और अन्य के साथ भाजपा राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री चुग ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार साहिब श्री गुरु नानक देव जी के सार्वभौमिक भाईचारे, विश्व शांति और धार्मिकता के मार्ग को अपनाने के दर्शन के बारे में उनकी शिक्षाओं को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। उन्होंने सिख समुदाय और पंजाब राज्य के लिए मोदी सरकार द्वारा उठाए गए कई अन्य निर्णयों और पहलों के बारे में बताया।चुघ ने मोदी सरकार द्वारा सिख एनआरआई की काली सूची को कम करने पर भी प्रकाश डाला, जिससे संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, कनाडा और अन्य देशों में विदेशों में रहने वाले कई सिख एनआरआई को लाभ हुआ है।
उन्होंने कहा कि सूची में संशोधन से उनकी भारत यात्रा संभव हो गयी है. 1984 के सिख विरोधी दंगों के लिए न्याय, अमृतसर में जलियांवाला बाग स्मारक का उन्नयन, पाकिस्तान और अफगानिस्तान में सिखों के साथ एकजुटता और जम्मू और कश्मीर में सिखों के अधिकारों को सुनिश्चित करना, एनआरआई सिख डायस्पोरा को जोड़ने के लिए कई अंतरराष्ट्रीय गंतव्यों के साथ विभिन्न हवाई अड्डों की कनेक्टिविटी सुनिश्चित करना। मातृभूमि, विभिन्न छात्रवृत्तियाँ देकर सिख युवाओं को सशक्त बनाना कुछ अन्य मुख्य आकर्षण थे।
बातचीत के दौरान बुद्धिजीवियों ने पंजाब के विकास और प्रगति के लिए मोदी सरकार द्वारा किए जा रहे प्रयासों की सराहना की। राजिंदर मोहन सिंह छीना ने पुस्तिका जारी करने के लिए तरुण चुघ को धन्यवाद दिया और उन्होंने सिख समुदाय और पंजाब राज्य के लिए मोदी सरकार द्वारा ली गई विभिन्न योजनाओं और निर्णयों पर भी प्रकाश डाला।
