"A special effort has been made by the district administration to encourage the youth, especially the first-time voters, of District Moga, to exercise the right to vote on June 1st. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mr. Kulwant Singh has announced that the youth who cast their vote for the first time will be rewarded with a special gift at the polling booths."
Addressing the first-time voters at village Dhudike, the birthplace of Lala Lajpat Rai ji, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh invited the youth to contribute as responsible citizens in the development of India, a country that became a democracy after the sacrifice of millions of martyrs. He said that electing the right government with the power of vote was also the responsibility of every citizen.
He said that 18621 young men and women in Moga district will exercise their right to vote for the first time. He congratulated all these young voters and invited them to vote themselves and educate their families, relatives, and acquaintances about the use of vote. He said that every polling booth in the Moga district will be provided with all kinds of facilities for the voters. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited citizens to celebrate these elections as a festival.
It is also to be mentioned here that this time 5066, 4007, 4415 and 5133 young men and women have registered themselves as new voters in Nihal Singh Wala, Baghapurana, Moga, and Dharamkot assembly segments respectively. He said that if these youths will use their vote then they can choose the government for the future which will be able to make better decisions for their better tomorrow.
He said that the district administration hoped that 18-year-old new voters would exercise their right to vote. With which the vote percentage in the Moga district this time will be more than 70 percent compared to the previous elections. In the last Lok Sabha elections, only 59 percent of votes were cast in district Moga.
He said that to achieve the target of 'Iss Baar 70 Paar' set by the Election Commission of India, attention is being paid to the encouragement of new voters to cast their votes. He said that model polling stations, pink polling stations, polling stations for disabled employees, and polling stations for youth employees will be set up in all assembly constituencies to encourage voters to vote.
He appealed to the residents to use their votes as voters and inspire others to strengthen the democracy of the country. During the event, a book exhibition was also arranged by the District Language Department Moga to motivate the young generation toward book culture. Young voters were also given the t-shirts. Deputy Commissioner planted a sapling near the statue of Lala Lajpat Rai.

ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੋਗਾ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ, ਖਾਸਕਰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ 1 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ-ਕਮ-ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ੍ਰ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਨਿਵਾਜ਼ਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਲਾਲਾ ਲਾਜਪਤ ਰਾਏ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਢੁੱਡੀਕੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਵੋਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ: ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਬਣੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵੋਟ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਵੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੋਗਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ 18621 ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਲੜਕੇ-ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੋਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਵੀ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਦੇ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੋਗਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥ ਤੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਲਾ, ਬਾਘਾਪੁਰਾਣਾ, ਮੋਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮਕੋਟ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ 5066, 4007, 4415 ਅਤੇ 5133 ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਲੜਕੇ-ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵੋਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੋਟ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਚੁਣ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਲਈ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਲੈ ਸਕੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ 18 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵੋਟਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੋਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਗਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੋਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ 70 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੋਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 59 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਿੱਥੇ ਗਏ ‘ਇਸ ਵਾਰ 70 ਪਾਰ’ਦੇ ਟੀਚੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਨਵੇਂ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਡਲ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਔਰਤਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਅੰਗਹੀਣ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੋਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੋਟ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ। ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮੋਗਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਵੱਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ। ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੀ-ਸ਼ਰਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਲਾਲਾ ਲਾਜਪਤ ਰਾਏ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਬੂਟਾ ਵੀ ਲਾਇਆ।
