On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Mohali, Mrs Aashika Jain, today, a mega Voter Awareness Drive under SVEEP was launched in various banks situated in Mohali District. The drive was started by ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke from Punjab National Bank Branch, DAC, Sector 76, Mohali, where ADC launched a sticker/poster campaign, which is to be pasted on all the ATMs in Mohali district. Besides, this, the pass books and bank forms would also have stamps of messages with Election Mascot-Shera.
In this event, Deputy Circle Head PNB Sanjit Koundal, Lead District Manager Mohali, M K Bhardwaj and Branch Manager Suman Sehgal were also present along with SVEEP team Mohali Sanjay Kumar Election Tehsildar and Gurbakshish Singh District Nodal Officer SVEEP activities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Viraj S Tidke said that the festival of democracy is in the offing and as a responsible citizen, we have to strengthen and honour democracy by casting our vote on June 01, 2024. He said that many awareness activities under Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation have already been launched in the district successfully to sensitise the voters.
As the banks have a huge base of customers with large footfall, so the banks have been roped in to contribute towards the SVEEP activity by making aware their customers of their voting rights. He said that apart from the main event organized at DAC Branch, the same events were conducted at Bank of Baroda Phase 9, Mohali, Bank of India Phase 9, Mohali, Union Bank of India Phase 5, Mohali, UCO Bank Phase 1, Mohali and Cooperative Bank Phase 2, Mohali by the District SVEEP Team.
The officers from these banks who were present on the occasion included Hitesh Sharma Chief Manager, Mitakshra Negi Branch Manager, Deepika Singh Branch Manager, Prabhgeet Kaur Branch Manager, Cooperative Bank MD Ranjit Singh, DM Gurpreet Singh, Branch manager Harindetpreet Kaur and DCO Tejinder Singh.
Lead District Manager M K Bhardwaj said that we have 481 Bank Branches and about 450 ATMs where the posters and stickers to make aware the people of their voting right to be pasted. He said that the banks have a huge customer base that would help in increasing the voting percentage in the district.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵੀਪ ਤਹਿਤ ਮੈਗਾ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਬੈਂਕ, ਸ਼ਾਖਾ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ, ਸੈਕਟਰ 76, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਏ ਡੀ ਸੀ (ਜ) ਵਿਰਾਜ ਐਸ ਤਿੜਕੇ ਨੇ ਸਟਿੱਕਰ/ਪੋਸਟਰ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਏ ਟੀ ਐਮਜ਼ ਤੇ ਲਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪਾਸ ਬੁੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਫਾਰਮਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਇਲੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਮਾਸਕੌਟ-ਸ਼ੇਰਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੋਹਰ ਵੀ ਲਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਹੈੱਡ ਪੀਐਨਬੀ ਸੰਜੀਤ ਕੌਂਡਲ, ਲੀਡ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਐਮ ਕੇ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਾਂਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਸੁਮਨ ਸਹਿਗਲ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸਵੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਚੋਂ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਚੋਣ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਸਵੀਪ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਵਿਰਾਜ ਐਸ ਤਿੜਕੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਆਗਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ 01 ਜੂਨ 2024 ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੋਟ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਵੋਟਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਇਲੈਕਟਰ ਪਾਰਟੀਸਿਪੇਸ਼ਨ ਤਹਿਤ ਕਈ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹਨ।
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਾਹਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਵੀਪ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡੀ ਏ ਸੀ ਬਰਾਂਚ ਵਿਖੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਬੈਂਕ ਆਫ਼ ਬੜੌਦਾ ਫੇਜ਼ 9, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ, ਬੈਂਕ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਫੇਜ਼ 9, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ, ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਬੈਂਕ ਆਫ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਫੇਜ਼ 5, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ, ਯੂਕੋ ਬੈਂਕ ਫੇਜ਼ 1, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਬੈਂਕ ਫੇਜ਼ 2, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਵੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਿਤੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਚੀਫ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ, ਮਿਤਾਕਸ਼ਰਾ ਨੇਗੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ, ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ, ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਬੈਂਕ ਦੇ ਐਮਡੀ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਐਮ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਰਾਂਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਹਰਿੰਦਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਸੀਓ ਤੇਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ। ਲੀਡ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਐਮ ਕੇ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ 481 ਬੈਂਕ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਚਾਂ ਅਤੇ 450 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਏ.ਟੀ.ਐਮ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੋਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਿੱਕਰ ਚਿਪਕਾਏ ਜਾਣੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਗਾਹਕ ਅਧਾਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
