Following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, to increase the polling percentage in the areas with a low turnout of voters in the previous elections of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), special attention is being paid to increasing the voter turnout in these polling booths during upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, said Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer, Mrs Aashika Jain. Continuous sweep activities are being carried out at the booth level by the District SVEEP (Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation) Team with the support of various educational institutions and NGOs so that the voter turnout can be increased to achieve the target of 80 per cent in the Lok Sabha elections-2024.
Today, a voter registration and awareness camp was organized at 'Metro Trade Center, VIP Road, Zirakpur' by District SVEEP Nodal Officer Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal and Election Tehsildar Sanjay Kumar with the support of Social Life Help and Care Foundation. During the camp, District SVEEP Nodal Officer Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal informed about various mobile apps related to elections (Voter Helpline app, Saksham app for the Pwd Voters and cVigil app for proactive participation of voters to report Model Code of Conduct violation).
He said that 12 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the district have been identified that are helping the SVEEP team in sensitizing senior citizens, migrant workers and Pwd voters to vote. Dr Karan Kamra, Chairman, of Social Life and Help Care Foundation said that 107 new votes/voter address change forms were received during today's camp. Dr Rashi Iyer said that during this camp, eligible voters from Jaipuria Sunrise Green Towers, Maya Garden and VIP Road residential areas participated, whose new votes as well as senior citizens' votes were transferred by submitting Form No. 8.
The residents of the area expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for this initiative and assured that not only the vote of all the voters of these areas will be ensured to cast but also support will be given to the volunteer election staff in Coffee mugs, caps and T-shirts were also distributed by the SVEEP team from the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner office to the eligible voters who were registered as voters during this camp. During today's camp, Social Life Help Care Foundation volunteers Vishwajit Parida, Namita, Anushka, Gagandeep Kwatra, Babita and Kuldeep played an active role and encouraged the voters to vote by visiting door-to-door.

ਅੱਜ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਵੀਪ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨਟਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਲਾਈਫ਼ ਹੈਲਪ ਐਂਡ ਕੇਅਰ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ‘ਮੈਟਰੋ ਟਰੇਡ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵੀ ਆਈ ਪੀ ਰੋਡ ਜ਼ੀਰਕਪੁਰ’ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਪੰਜੀਕਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਕੈਂਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਵੀਪ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਨਟਾਲ ਨੇ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਐਪਸ (ਵੋਟਰ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ ਐਪ, ਦਿਵਿਆਂਗਜਨ ਲਈ ਸਕਸ਼ਮ ਐਪ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਤੰਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਵੀਜਲ ਐਪ) ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਚ 12 ਗੈਰ-ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ (ਐਨ ਜੀ ਓਜ਼) ਦੀ ਸ਼ਨਾਖਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸਿਟੀਜ਼ਨ, ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਵਿਆਂਗਜਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਡਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਾਮਰਾ, ਚੈਅਰਮੈਨ, ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਲਾਈਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਲਪ ਕੇਅਰ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ 107 ਨਵੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਵੋਟ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਦੇ ਫਾਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਡਾ. ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਆਈਅਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜੈਪੁਰੀਆ ਸਨਰਾਈਜ਼ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਟਾਵਰਜ਼, ਮਾਇਆ ਗਾਰਡਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੀ ਆਈ ਪੀ ਰੋਡ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸਿਟੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਫਾਰਮ ਨੰਬਰ 8 ਭਰਕੇ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਲਈ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ਼ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੋਟ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਪਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਬਲਕਿ ਬਤੌਰ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਚੋਣ ਅਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਰਜਿਸਟਰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਯੋਗ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫਸਰ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੌਫ਼ੀ ਮੱਗ, ਕੈਪਸ ਅਤੇ ਟੀ-ਸ਼ਰਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਤਕਸੀਮ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਲਾਈਫ ਹੈਲਪ ਕੇਅਰ ਫਾਉਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਜੀਤ ਪਰੀਦਾ, ਨਮਿਤਾ, ਅਨੁਸ਼ਕਾ, ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕਵਾਤਰਾ, ਬਬੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਨੇ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਡੋਰ-ਟੂ-ਡੋਰ ਦਸਤਕ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਚੋਣ ਤਹਿਸੀਲਦਾਰ ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
