04 Days Training programme for Pani Samitis commences at Kulgam

A four days training program for Level -3 community stakeholders/ Pani Samitis under Jal Jeevan Mission was today kick-started by Mission Director (MD), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Dr.G N Itoo at Rest House Kulgam. The program is being organized by Mission Directorate JJM J&K UT in collaboration with KRC - Himalayan Institute for Environment, Ecology & Development (HIFEED), an empaneled agency.

Speaking on the occasion, the MD laid emphasis on the participants to be the change makers in their respective villages. “Everyone who participates in such orientation programs learn from the experts on various topics connecting them to the initiatives of WASH under Jal Jeevan modules,” he said, while appreciating the Asha’s and PRI Women representatives who shared their experience during the programme.

Among other participants, SE JJM Anantnag Circle, F.R. Bhagat; Ex. Engineer PHE Division Kulgam, Nawaz Ahmad Bhat; Project Manager DPMU Kulgam, Er. Ajaz Ahmad Keen and other officials of Jal Shakti department were also present and shared their views about the programme. Earlier the KRC- HIFEED briefed the participants about the 4 days training programme.

78 participants of Pani Samitis (VWSC’s) from selected GPs of every block of Kulgam District were present and have also registered to attend the 4 days training programme. The team of experts of KRC- HIFEED, besides other experts will cover all the sessions/modules under JJM guidelines for roles and responsibilities of Pani Samitis (Pre, Post Implementation and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of the Water Supply Schemes) and WASH during the training programme.
