In a significant development, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while presiding over the concluding session of the MLA priority meeting for Shimla and Mandi districts, highlighted the remarkable progress achieved during the first year of the present state government's tenure. 

The Chief Minister emphasized that despite limited resources, a substantial inherited debt, and overcoming a decade-long disaster, the government successfully implemented visionary decisions, propelling the state's development.

To expedite construction projects, the Public Works Department's tender period was reduced from 51 to 20 days. The government's initiatives, undertaken in the first year, aimed at utilizing resources efficiently and addressing the pressing issues faced by the state.

Chief Minister Sukhu announced a historic decision to conduct 'Revenue Lok Adalats' in the last two days of every month throughout the state, ensuring the swift resolution of pending revenue cases. The 'Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar' program was launched to address people's issues directly at their doorsteps.

The restoration of the Old Pension Scheme for NPS employees was a significant move to provide a dignified and secure retirement life. The government ensured the effective implementation of welfare schemes and other developmental projects to reach the deserving beneficiaries.

In the meeting, various MLAs from Shimla and Mandi districts voiced their concerns and expectations. MLA Chopal Balbir Verma urged the opening of a Bus Depot at Nerwa and faster progress in Jal Shakti department's ongoing works. He emphasized the promotion of tourism in the Chopal area and the improvement of the Chhaila-Chopal road.

MLA Theog Kuldeep Rathore commended the government's relief and rehabilitation efforts during disasters. He suggested incorporating proper drainage systems in road construction and requested the construction of the Narkanda-Hatu ropeway. 

Additionally, he emphasized the need for filling vacant doctor positions in his assembly segment and upgrading the status of the district hospital in Theog.In Mandi District, MLAs like Deep Raj, Vinod Kumar, and Inder Singh Gandhi presented their concerns and demands. These included solving electricity problems, improving disaster-affected roads, and promoting tourism activities in various constituencies.

The meeting concluded with Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena expressing gratitude to all participants. Key ministers, including Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, and Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, along with senior officers, were present at the meeting, underscoring the government's commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the people.
