Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, today convened a public darbar at Khellani, Bhalla block, as part of "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" to take stock of issues and concerns of the area besides overseeing the ongoing development works there.

During the public outreach program, Commissioner Secretary focused on addressing public grievances on priority basis which is the prime objective of present dispensation. He emphasized the importance of government welfare and development schemes in raising living standards of common masses while asking the officers to ensure coverage of all eligible beneficiaries under their respective schemes.

He highlighted various ongoing government initiatives and appealed the people to avail benefit of the same for a better tomorrow. He encouraged leveraging these schemes for socio-economic empowerment, directing the officials to optimally the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra platform for ensuring complete saturation of central government and other schemes.

Commissioner Secretary monitored the activities of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra's IEC van which screened Prime Minister's message on developing India as a developed nation by 2047. He also inspected the departmental stalls established to raise awareness among the local populace regarding their respective schemes besides showcasing local products made by Self Help Groups of the area.

He interacted with the officers from different departments and sought feedback on implementation of their respective schemes. He asked the health department to further intensify immunization programs in the area besides addressing public health concerns on priority. 

During the public outreach camp, the participants raised several issues including construction of an army public school, enhanced water and power supply, staff shortage, better road connectivity and healthcare services besides other related concerns of the area.

Commissioner Secretary assured the participants that all their issues raised during the public darbar would be taken up with the concerned for an early solution. He assured commencement of Dugli and Gajot road construction soon and directed the initiation of internet services in the areas. 

He said all efforts would be initiated to boost tourism potential of Khellani and Bani areas through events like summer festival. He assured that resolving electricity supply issues, improving road connectivity, ensuring ration supply and addressing concerns related to religious pilgrimage paths would be given top priority.

On the occasion, around 1500 cases submitted under PMEGP schemes were acknowledged, with an emphasis on promoting entrepreneurship to boost the local economy. Meanwhile, the Commissioner Secretary participated in a plantation drive at Khellani.

The event concluded with Commissioner Secretary administering VBSY pledge to the participants, affirming a collective commitment towards nation building.Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh other senior officers of different departments were present on the occasion.
