The Department of Horticulture Kulgam today organized a distribution function of various horticulture tool kits among the progressive growers of DDC constituency Pombay. The function was presided over by the Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, Mohd Afzal Parrey as chief guest and 204 tool kits were distributed among farmers of the area.
Besides Chief Horticulture Officer Kulgam other officials of the department were also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, DDC Chairperson stressed upon the farmers to adopt modern means of agricultural implements while farming which are available also on subsidized rates provided by the department of horticulture.
He also appreciated the efforts of the department of horticulture for organising capacity building programmes to provide technical knowhow regarding growing of different crops. The Chief Horticulture Officer urged the farmers to visit their office for more information about various programmes and schemes offered by the department.
