Armed forces flag day was observed in the district today with officials from Defense Services Welfare Department pinning flag on Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Chahal, Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Major (Retd) Amit Sareen to raise fund for this noble cause. Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh called upon the people of Ludhiana to contribute immensely in this noble cause so that fund raised under this campaign can be utilized for the welfare of family of martyr soldiers, and ex-servicemen.
Giving more information, District Defense Services Welfare Officer Commander Baljinder Singh Virk said that Armed Forces Flag Day is a significant event wherein people from across the country remember the contribution/sacrifices of our heroes besides donating funds to help families of martyr soldiers. He further added that these funds are utilized only for welfare of family members of martyr soldiers.
