PM Vishwakarma Yojana has also been started in District Moga.  The work of registration of artisans related to 18 different types of businesses has also started.  This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Shri Kulwant Singh while presiding over the meeting of the District Implementation Committee.

Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh said that under this scheme, artisans will have to get registered on a portal.  The registration work is going on at more than 300 common service centers in Moga district.  This registration data will be collected at the District Industries Centre. 18 categories are kept for registration.  In this scheme, the artisans will be provided training to bring more efficiency to their profession and will also be given 500 rupees per day as a stipend.  

Eligible artisans will be issued a certificate by the Center and given a voucher of Rs 15,000 to purchase a tool kit. After this, they will be given a loan of one lakh rupees free of charge, on which only 5 percent interest will be charged.  Artisans who repay this loan within the specified 18 months will be eligible for a new loan of Rs 2 lakh.  

By which they will be able to expand their work.  Artisans will be incentivized to empower digital transactions and marketing support will be provided to sell products. He said that a district-level committee has been formed to implement this scheme.  This scheme will play an important role in the economic and social upliftment of artisans.  

He invited the artisans of District Moga to take advantage of this scheme. General Manager of District Industries Center Moga Mr. Sukhminder Singh Rekhi, Functional Manager Mr. Sukhraj Singh Virak, Mr. Mukhtiar Singh Former Police Officer, and others were also present at the meeting.
