Director Rural Sanitation Jammu and Kashmir Charandeep Singh today visited different areas of Block Sunderbani as part of Government’s flagship public outreach programme aimed to connect with the rural populace and took feedback on governance issues.

On his arrival on the first day, the Director, as per the programme, visited the designated Panchayat Upper Bhajwal-A, interacted with the PRIs, frontline workers of all the departments and public at Panchayat Ghar building Upper Bhajwal-A.

The interaction programme was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Tehsildar Sunderbani, Assistant Engineer Jal Shakti Department, Assistant Engineer JPDCL, Assistant Engineer PWD (R&B).

After the interaction session, the Director visited the Amrit Sarovar at Larya and took stock of developmental and other issues of public importance. During the inspection of Amrit Sarovar, the officer also visited “eagle point” , a local tourist spot nearby Amrit Sarovar and inspected the ongoing construction of a Tourist Hut by the Forest Department.

He also inspected the developmental works carried out by the Rural Development Department (RDD) which included the construction of Lane Drain with allied work on the main Road to Krishan Moh; construction of Lane Drain at OP Moh W.No.2 and construction of Lane with Tile work at Mata Mandir Laman.

At Laman and Kund, the Director visited vegetable bowls and interacted with vegetable growers of the area. During the visit to agricultural Bowl, he also inspected soakage pits and interacted with the public about the use of individual and community soakage pits.

Soon after that, he concluded his first day program by visiting a Segregation Shed and Community Compost Pits. On this occasion, people raised issues and demands of public importance with the officer and provided feedback on different government schemes and programmes.

During the 2nd day of the visit, the officer inspected Govt. Middle School Kund where a sports activity was also organized in presence of Visiting Officer. After the inspection of School, the officer visited the Anganwadi Centre at Kund and interacted with Anganwadi workers and other staff of the Social Welfare Department (ICDS).  

After that the director proceeded to Community Hall, near Shiv Mandir Laman to attend Gram Sabha wherein he interacted with the common masses of the panchayat and redressed the grievances and complaints of public.

During the visit to Gram Sabha the officer inspected various stalls displayed by the Health Department, Forest Department, Horticulture Department and Social welfare (ICDS). At the conclusion of Gram Sabha, the pledge under “Nasha Mukt Bharat” Abhiyaan and “Corruption Free Bharat” was also taken.  

The Gram Sabha was also attended by Member District Development Council, Constituency Sunderbani, Chairman Block Development Council Sunderbani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, Block Development Officer Sunderbani, Assistant Engineer JPDCL, Assistant Engineer PWD (R&B) and officials from all line Departments.

Director Rural Sanitation also inaugurated the PMAY Houses. During the finalization of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2024-25 of Panchayat, the Director said that Back to Village 5 is helping the PRIs and departments to showcase their works and encouraged the public representatives to raise genuine and effective demands.
