Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology, Saurab Bhagat, today visited Panchayat Bhunikhet in Bufliaz Block as part of fifth phase of public outreach initiative “Back to Village”. The visit aimed at to address the grievances of locals and facilitate meaningful interactions with the general public of the area.

The programme witnessed massive participation of people from all the adjacent villages. The public and the PRI representatives put forth their demands and grievances pertaining to their respective areas. Commissioner Secretary inspected the stalls set up by various departments and assessed the progress made under different schemes, focusing on achieving the predetermined targets. 

He actively engaged with PRIs, senior citizens and the general public and had detailed feedback on developmental activities being undertaken in the area. Saurab Bhagat enquired from the officers about the status of activities being carried out by them under different schemes. He also asked from the PRI representatives about the response from the allied departments. 

He encouraged both the PRIs and people to participate in such people friendly programmes which play an instrumental role in redressal of their issues and concerns. As part of the visit, Commissioner Secretary distributed school bags under the "Beti Bachao Beti Padho" scheme, sports kits among local sportsperson, water testing kits and Ayushman Cards among the beneficiaries. He also inaugurated a Community hall in the Panchayat.

Later, an oath ceremony was also organized wherein all participants were administered pledge regarding Nasha Mukt. The visiting officer also participated in a plantation drive. Addressing the gathering, Saurab Bhagat said that the B2V5 programme is aimed to involve the general public and government officials in a joint effort to deliver the mission of equitable development in rural areas. 

He further said that the present administration is committed towards ensuring that the benefits of government schemes shall reach out to every citizen. Commissioner Secretary also announced 1000 Bio mass cook stoves and Solar Cookers. He asked Deputy Commissioner to prepare a list of the beneficiaries for distribution of the same.

Saurab Bhagat directed the concerned officers to resolve all the genuine issues of the public at the earliest. He also assured the people that their demands and grievances will be taken up with concerned authorities for redressal.

Earlier, PRIs projected their demands which inter alia included completion of PMGSY road, solar plant for the Panchayat, protection wall along Suran river, electric poles for the Panchayat, appointment of Veterinary Doctor, construction of ground, Taruma Hospital, completion of Water Supply Schemes and others. While giving a patient hearing to these demands, Saurab Bhagat assured time bound redressal of the same.
