To uplift  the living standards of marginalized and neglected people, central government has launched the "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" from today under which benefits of centre government schemes will be provided across the district.

While presiding over the meeting at the District Administrative Complex, Joint Secretary, Government of India IAS Sarita Chauhan said that the central government has started a campaign on November 15 to reach the beneficiaries of the major schemes and programs of the center government in rural and urban areas and this journey will culminated on January 25.

She said that as a nodal officer, she will monitor the campaign "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra- Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat" and awareness vans to be sent to the villages where camps will be organised. Cultural programs will also be conducted in these camps to reach out to maximum people.

Joint Secretary, Government of India said that the beneficiaries who have not been covered till now should be guided so that the benefits of the schemes which have not reached, can also avail to them. On this occasion, the suggestions and success stories of the beneficiaries will be shared so that every scheme can be benefited by motivating every neglected person.

She further pointed out that the need of the hour is to provide equal rights to the people in the cities as well as in the villages by giving them the benefit of every scheme.Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav said that a district level committee has been constituted for the implementation of the "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" and the nodal officers of the schemes have also been appointed.  

She also said that the district administration has already organized "Jan Sunwai camps" in the villages and where hundreds of people have benefited.
