Sanjeev Arora reviews progress of development projects alongwith DC Surabhi Malik

MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora held a meeting with the officials of District Administration in the DC Office here on Monday, to review progress of the ongoing development projects in the district. The meeting was held in presence of Surabhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana.  Officials from various departments including GLADA, Railways, NHAI, Traffic Police, PWD (B&R) and Municipal Corporation were present.

Arora asked about progress of the ongoing development projects, including elevated road, upgradation of railway stations at Ludhiana and Dhandari Kalan, cycle track and beautification work along the Ferozepur road and Halwara airport. He asked about deadline of completion of Halwara airport, which is the dream project of Punjab chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He was apprised that Halwara airport is likely to be completed in next about three months. 

He was briefed about all the latest development taken place with regard to ongoing construction work of upcoming airport at Halwara. Railway authorities assured that work going on in upgrading main station amd Dhandari Kalan well on time. Regarding beautification and plantation along elevated road, Arora said plantation should be done beautifully so that commuters entering the city should have a “good feel”. 

He suggested that plantation should match with the Best in Country. He asked all the officials to expedite the work and categorically stated that no compromise with quality should be done. Arora asked the officials to let him know if they require any kind of approval for the ongoing development projects so that he may take up the matter with the concerned authorities. He said he is always open to respond to them so that there should be no hinderance or slow pace in the ongoing development projects. 

He further asked the officials to work according to the given deadlines so that city residents should not face any kind of problem for a longer time due to the ongoing development projects. Later, Arora highly lauded Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik for showing keen interest in giving a boost of the development projects across the district.  he termed her a “development-oriented” officer. He said he has noted down some points that he will be taking with the concerned authorities both at the state and the central government-level.
