Thakur Memorial Trophy reached its thrilling conclusion on last day , with Corvuss American Academy, Maharashtra emerged as the victors in the boys' category, and New Public School, Chandigarh, secured the title in the girls' category. The event was hosted by the Sacred Souls’ School.
Capt. Manish Kumar Lohan, HCS, Joint Secretary (Industries and Commerce), Haryana, was the Chief Guest of the day. He delivered an inspirational message to the participating teams, emphasizing the values of hard work, resilience and sportsmanship.
The semi-final encounters pitted Acharyakulam, Haridwar (12) against Corvuss American Academy, Maharashtra (45) (Girls); Corvuss American Academy, Maharashtra (54) against New Public School, Chandigarh (34) (Boys); New Public School, Chandigarh (32) against Soulian Warriors (11) (Girls) and The Asian School, Dehradun (55) against Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (29) (Boys).
In the boys' category, the 1st Runner-up title went to The Asian School, Dehradun, while Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute claimed the 2nd Runner-Up position. In the girls' category, Corvuss American Academy, Maharashtra secured the 1st Runner-up, while Acharyakulam, Haridwar, earned the 2nd Runner-Up title. Additionally, individual awards recognized outstanding contributions.
The Highest Scorer of the Tournament in the girls' category was awarded to Laxmi Yadav (Corvuss American Academy). In the boys' category, Prabhat Mishra (Corvuss American Academy) was honored as the Highest Scorer. The title of Most Valuable Player of the tournament went to Arpita Dey (New Public School) in the girls' category, and Yogesh Yadav (Corvuss American Academy) in the boys' category.
The Most Promising Player of the tournament in the girls' category was Sneha Yadav (Corvuss American Academy), and in the boys' category, it was Udayvir S. Nanda (AFPI).The TMT Tournament also expressed its gratitude by presenting honorary mementos to the Officials of Chandigarh Basketball Association for their invaluable contributions to the success of this event.
Director of the School, Gurpal Singh Bhatti said at the moment that the tournament not only celebrated the athletic prowess of the participants but also underscored the importance of sportsmanship and camaraderie in the world of sports.
