Jasbir Singh Sur Singh, Director (Admin) of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), convened a crucial meeting with members of the Apprenticeship Sangharsh Union, bringing an end to a month-long protest outside the Powercom head office in Patiala. This pivotal meeting took place on Friday, following the directives of Punjab's Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Power Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, and Finance Minister, S. Harpal Singh Cheema.

During the meeting, S. Jasbir Singh Sur Singh reassured the union members that the recruitment process for Assistant Linemen, as per the new CRA, would be officially advertised by December 15, 2023. This announcement was met with enthusiasm and approval from the union representatives. Jasbir Singh Sur Singh said that this development underscores the commitment of the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to address the concerns of the workforce and to ensure the smooth functioning of essential services.

The successful conclusion of the meeting between the PSPCL Director (Admin) and the Apprenticeship Sangharsh Union marks a positive step forward in resolving labor-related issues in the power sector. The union members expressed their satisfaction with the outcome and have subsequently decided to withdraw their protest.

This decision is expected to lead to a return to normalcy in the operations of the power sector, which is crucial for the state's infrastructure and the well-being of its citizens.
