As a part of ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada and acting upon the directions of UT Government Rural Development Department Doda organised a special cleanliness drive in all 237 panchayats of the district. ACD Doda Phulail Singh Bandral JKAS alongwith the BDC Chairperson Kastigarh and SDM Assar spearheaded the cleanliness drive at Assar. The drive was conducted in a stretch of 1KM in which various market establishments were cleaned, besides penalties were slashed against the erring shopkeepers for promoting the uncleanness in the area. While speaking to the locals and PRIs ACD Doda urged to promote the idea of Swachhta across the district as well as in their areas by way of behavioural change and generating civic sense.
He added that Swachhta comes internally from each individual of the society and we should collectively work in this direction, besides asking the people to promote eco-friendly attitude among the masses and should curb the use of single use of plastic. Later on Swachhta pledge, pledge on Non violence and Nasha Mukht Bharat was also administered to the locals, government officials as well as to the PRIs. It is pertinent to mention here similar activities were conducted in all 237 panchayats of the district wherein cleanliness drive was conducted in Panchayat Ghars, Schools, health institutes, market places etc, besides Pledge were also taken.
