The NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Govt. Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with ECO-Club and IQAC, organized a Cleanliness Drive in and around the College campus under the observance of "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign initiated by the Government of India to promote the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in the country and to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti 2023, under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K. The primary objective of this program was to raise awareness among students about the importance and benefits of cleanliness.
With great enthusiasm and zeal, the NSS volunteers, Green Warriors, students and staff of the College worked together to make the clean-up drive a success. The sweepers of the college also participated in the noble cause. Volunteers picked up the scattered wrappers and other items, and disposed off them in the dustbins. The students and teachers actively participated in the event and inspired others to do the same. Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convenor ECO-Club, delivered a speech to the students about the significance of sanitation. In the end, the students and staff took an Anti-Drug and Non-Violence pledge.
The event was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College. While speaking on the occasion, she articulated that this unique experience left a lasting impression on all the participants and all were eager to be a part of this great drive. The college holds such kind of events every year to instill the habit of keeping the surroundings clean. Overall, it was a remarkable initiative that brought together students and staff to work towards a common goal of raising awareness about cleanliness to take action and make a positive impact on our environment
The whole program was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma, Convenor IQAC, Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS PO and Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convenor Eco-Club of the College. The organizing committee consisted of Mazid Malik, Dr. Madhu Bala, Dr. Tisha Gupta, Dr. Pooja Gupta, Dr. Radhika Rasyal, Dr. Shallu Sharma, Renuka Kundal.
