A medical checkup camp was organized for the inmates in the local sub jail today by the District Legal Services Authority with the support of the District Administration. It was inaugurated by Hon'ble District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal IAS and SSP Mr. Manjit Singh Dhesi.
On this occasion, Hon'ble District and Sessions Judge Jatinder Kaur, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal and SSP Mr. Manjit Singh Dhesi also heard the problems of the prisoners. They also asked the prisoners about the quality of food available in the jail.
The District Legal Services Authority also informed about the free legal aid to the inmates and explained how they can avail the facility of free lawyer through the authority for their legal proceedings. The prisoners were encouraged that when they complete their sentence, they will participate in the society as a responsible citizen and will return home with an improvement in their behaviour.
Specialist doctors of Civil Hospital Fazilka conducted a medical check-up of the prisoners and provided them with required medicines on occasion. District Legal Services Authority Secretary Mr. Amandeep Singh, Jail Superintendent Mr. Aasu Bhatti, DSP Subeg Singh were also present on this occasion.
Specialist from Health Department like Dr Saksham Kamboj, Dr Pankaj, Dr Nishat, Dr Karmjot Kaur, Dr Gaurv Phutela also offered thiere services in this camp.
