Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Aashika Jain said that Aam Aadmi Clinics have been proving a boon for the residents in the district. Every day, Thousands of people are taking benefit of the Aam Aadmi clinics established by the Punjab government in the district, under which all kinds of medicines and tests are provided free of charges.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as many as 3,92,924 patients have successfully been treated in 34 Aam Aadmi clinics functioning in SAS Nagar district, so far. Besides, 45,814 patients have got free lab tests done from these clinics.
She said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has set up Aam Aadmi clinics to provide free primary health facilities such as check-up and free medicines through efficient doctors and staff to the people of the state, where thousands of patients are getting themselves examined for one and another ailment .
Moreover, the residents who could not travel too much for health facilities, now feel confertable as the AACs are providing health care near to their doorsteps.Deputy Commissioner, further said that the major benefit of health check-up from these Aam Aadmi clinics is that when someone is diagnosed with symptoms of any serious illness, he/she is immediately referred to the nearest community health center/district hospital for further check-up so that the disease can be treated further.
Apart from making 78 types of medicines available at Aam Aadmi Clinics, lab tests such as HB, Blood sugar, Blood grouping, HIV, HCV, HBsAg, VDRL, Urine related tests and blood slide malaria etc. are conducted free of charge, here.
She said that with the introduction of AACs, the burden at the government hospitals is now reduced and the specialist doctors and medical staff have more time to attend to the persons with serious illness.
