Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today visited the Leprosy Ashram built at Kotlan Khurd in Una district.  About 40 patients are living with their families in this ashram run by Maa Chinnamastika Kushth Ashray Society.

On the occasion, the Governor lauded the efforts of Gram Panchayat Pradhan of Kotla Khurd, Mamta Rani and the district administration for serving leprosy patients. He expressed satisfaction that special care was being taken of cleanliness here and proper medicines were also being provided to them.

He urged them to educate their children to secure their future.  He said that today, the number of such patients has decreased in the country and they were also getting proper treatment.  He was also associated with such Ashrams in Uttar Pradesh and is well aware of their problems.

Shri Shukla assured them that efforts would be made to resolve all their difficulties through the district administration and he would personally peruse the matter for their accommodation.  He also urged the people to come forward to help them.

Panchayat Pradhan Mamta Rani welcomed the governor on this occasion while Lal Bahadur of Kushth Ashram detailed about grievances of the inmates. Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma and Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen were also present on the occasion.
