In a remarkable show of strength and unity, Congress party’s former municipal councillors and leaders from the Jalandhar West assembly constituency held a meeting at the residence of Jalandhar by-poll candidate Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary here on Thursday evening.
The meeting was attended by Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, MLAs Rana Gurjit Singh, Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Hardev Singh Laddi Sherowalia and Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, Jalandhar (Urban) Congress president Rajinder Beri, senior party leaders and former councillors from Jalandhar West.
The meeting was aimed at backing Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary and ensuring a massive win from the Jalandhar West constituency in the upcoming by poll. The gathering served as a demonstration of the firm support and unity within the Congress party in Jalandhar West, which is confident of emerging victorious in the upcoming election.
Speaking on the occasion, Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary expressed her gratitude to all the leaders for their support and solidarity. She said, “I am humbled by the overwhelming support shown by the Congress leaders and workers.
Together, we will work to ensure a massive win for the Congress party in the Jalandhar by poll. The people of Jalandhar have always supported Congress, and I am confident that they will continue to do so.”
LOP Partap Singh Bajwa said that the meeting was a reflection of the unbreakable bond among the Congress leaders and workers. He said every party worker was fully committed to win the Jalandhar by poll and was working hard for the positive result.
Campaign committee chairman Rana Gurjit Singh said, “The Congress party is a family and we stand united in our efforts to win the Jalandhar by poll. The Aam Aadmi Party has exposed its bankruptcy as it couldn’t even find the candidate from its own cadre.We are confident that the people of Jalandhar will see through this and will give a fitting reply in the election.”
